The Norfolk Office of Coldwell Professional, Realtors® began in 1956 as Duncan & Gifford Realtors owned by two women, Joan D. Gifford & Dorys Duncan, at a time when there were not many women Realtors.  In 1971 Joan Gifford bought out Mrs. Duncan and the office became Gifford Realty Inc.  Soon thereafter her son, Thomas C. (Tim) Gifford, joined her in the business.  In the late 80’s Tim became the President of the Company.    In 1992 Coldwell Banker came to town and offered us the opportunity to become a franchisee and we took it.  The office became Coldwell Banker Gifford Realty and remained so until our entire fellow Coldwell Banker offices, each individually owned, decided to merge.

The Norfolk Office has been located at 1547 East Little Creek Road since the 1960’s.  The merger to Coldwell Banker Professional, Realtors® gave us the desire and opportunity to build a brand new state of the art real estate office to better serve the housing markets needs throughout our community. The building houses the sales department as well as a residential and condominium management company and an insurance company.

Tim Gifford is currently the managing partner of the Norfolk Office and his mother; Joan D. Gifford remains involved in the business.
