Harrison & Lear, Inc. was formed in September, 1953 by Jefferson C. Harrison and Robert H. Lear to meet postwar housing demands on the Peninsula. The company has been under the leadership of Thomas T. Thompson since July, 1980.

In January, 2002, the residential sales department of Harrison & Lear, Inc. joined existing brokerages in Williamsburg, Poquoson, Norfolk, Portsmouth and Virginia Beach to create Coldwell Banker Professional, Realtors, with coverage of the entire metropolitan area.  The Hampton office staff consists of the Managing Broker, Yvonne Vreeland-Johnson, Office Manager, Carrie Howard, twenty-four sales associates, a Marketing Coordinator, Monica Schrum and an Administrative Assistant, Brittney Burris. 

Located on the southeastern tip of the Virginia peninsula on the Chesapeake Bay, Hampton is the oldest continuously settled English community in the United States.  Hampton provides a remarkable quality of life.  Hampton’s historic charm, coupled with scenic waterfront vistas, has a small town atmosphere and yet boasts all of the conveniences of a large metropolitan area.  Its waterfront harbor is a remarkably well-shielded area for anchorage and docking of pleasure sail and power boats as well as a variety of commercial fishing boats.  Hampton has a moderate cost of living, affordable homes and high safety record.
