The Franklin Office of Coldwell Banker Professional, Realtors®, located at the corner of Main Street and 2nd Avenue in the downtown Historic District, has been a practicing Real Estate Agency since 1984.  First started as Venture Properties in 1984, the company and its agents prospered and grew their market share due to the broker and agents’ good name and attitude of service toward the client.  In November of 2005 Venture Properties became a member of the Coldwell Banker family to further carry forward the goal of great service to our clients.

The City of Franklin is a great place to raise a family in a culture that possesses Virginia history and new growth.  Franklin is located in the southeastern, or Tidewater Section of Virginia, 40 miles west of Norfolk and nine miles north of the North Carolina border.  Within an hour's drive to the east is Virginia Beach, a famous seashore resort.  Within an hour's drive to the northwest is the historical attraction of Richmond and Petersburg.  An hour's drive to the south is the fishing and sunbathing resort area on the Outer Banks of North Carolina.  An hour's drive to the north is the famous restored Colonial Williamsburg.

Franklin is located at the head of the navigable portion of the Blackwater River.  Situated on the eastern edge of Southampton County, adjacent to Isle of Wight County, it has always been a center of trade and transportation for the surrounding countryside.  As with most communities, Franklin's location has affected its history.  Since the City is adjacent to the Blackwater River, water transportation has played a large part in Franklin's development.  Franklin has also become an important rail point between the City of Norfolk and the Western Roanoke Basin.

With history and growth, our focus has remained the same.  We strive to provide the best services available for our clients, maintaining a high quality rural standard of living for our area residents. Welcome to Franklin!
